About

WHAT SHOULD IT DO: Bring People in recovery together, share ideas and opinions, information sharing, establish a hub, up-to-date info sharing, collective advocacy for better services MAT etc..

FORUM NAME: Touching Base one suggestion and some others but the one that seemed to ring home was ‘Let the people sing’ possibly with strapline Community Recovery. Suggestion that LET THE PEOPLE SING could be a working title and might revisit it in the future as more people get involved.

WHO IS IT FOR: Greater Craigmillar Area including Newcraighall, Bingham and Magdalene but not the whole of the North East Locality: For people in recovery or supporting someone in recovery (Family/freinds) suggested it would be inclusive and open for people in various stages of their recovery journeys and open to people in recovery from mental health issues too.

HOW OFTEN TO MEET: Monthly to start with. Last Thursday every Month (Will at CC to see if we can book the Thistle for these dates)

PRIORITIES: Improving local services (particularly accessibility MAT delivered locally, confidentail spaces locally) understanding barriers to recovery (gathering information), establishing a recovery hub.
